Security and Project Management


During the planning, testing, development of the components software errors can be introduced by miscommunications and disconnects. Throughout all stages of system life cycle security must be a continuous process. All project managers should review the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) special publication as it provides a huge amount of information on security during the overall life cycle. It has been always a matter of debate where and how to draw the boundaries to secure the system. It is the task of the company to establish the security team and clearly educate and address them their roles and responsibilities.
The employees along with the management team should take an effort to take it seriously toward ensuring its success. Managing the system life cycle a very important issue and research shows that almost 90% of all companies do not know how to do it. For the better software, software companies always need right people, technology and process. Because of the bad business practices companies has been wasting their valuable time and money. Companies have not been able to meet schedule, quality goals which results in failing of a project. Additional communication requirements and potential usage environment should be considered by project managers.
